Payload Suite

The satellite carries two core payloads:

  • Simera Sense HyperScape100 – a flight-proven hyperspectral imager providing 4.75 m GSD from a 500 km orbit, across 32 spectral bands (VNIR 450–900 nm).
  • Data Processing Unit from Zaitra – an AI-enabled onboard processor that commands the camera, filters cloud-covered scenes, compresses data, and autonomously compresses imagery before downlink.

This combination allows for faster data delivery and reduced bandwidth use, enabling daily high-value EO products.

On-Board Intelligence

Built around the Xiphos Q8S SoC (Quad Arm Cortex-A53 + FPGA 504k cells), the DPU performs in-orbit pre-processing, normalization, and AI-based object recognition. All of this is thanks to the SKAISEN product from our partner company Zaitra.

The satellite can receive over-the-air software and AI model updates, allowing the satellite to evolve and add new functionalities throughout its mission life.

Platform And Operations

TROLL NG is a 8U CubeSat platform with subsystems for precise attitude control, power management, and high-rate communications.
The X-band link handles data downlink, while S-band supports command and telemetry.
A propulsion system ensures orbital maintenance and compliant deorbiting, reinforcing TRL Space’s commitment to sustainable mission design.
